Coachmate, operated by Stephen Michael as a sole trader (ABN 99543519147), is committed to protecting the privacy of students and families in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and safeguarded in connection with personalised 1-on-1 lessons for high school students in Years 7–12.

Information Collected

Coachmate collects only the information needed to deliver effective tutoring and communicate with families, including student and parent names, contact details (email and phone), school year level and subject focus, booking and attendance records, payment details, and brief learning or progress notes. Information is gathered through the Coachmate website (including Squarespace booking forms), email, phone, and other direct interactions with Stephen.

How Information Is Used

Personal information is used to manage enquiries and bookings, schedule and deliver tutoring sessions, share resources and feedback, and process payments. It may also be used to send important service updates about Coachmate. Marketing communications are sent only where consent has been provided and can be opted out of at any time.

Sharing and Protection of Information

Personal information is managed solely by Stephen Michael and is not sold or rented to third parties. It is only disclosed to trusted service providers where necessary to operate the service (for example, payment processors such as Stripe or website providers), or where required by law or to meet child-safety obligations. Coachmate uses password-protected devices and reputable cloud platforms to store information securely and takes reasonable steps to protect data from unauthorised access, misuse or loss.

Access, Corrections and Questions

Families may request access to the personal information held about them or ask for corrections if details are inaccurate or out of date.
